Meet Susan Layton

For a long time, I thought “purpose” was something you earned. I believed it was a reward waiting for me after I finally achieved financial security, fixed everyone else’s problems, and somehow managed to perfectly hold my life together.

It doesn’t work like that.

If we were swapping resumes, I could tell you about the businesses I’ve built or the incredible experiences I’ve had performing American Sign Language (ASL) to standing ovations.

But if we were sitting across from each other right now, I’d tell you about the devastating business betrayal from someone in my innermost circle. I’d tell you about the desperate season where I worked 22-hour days, sleeping in two-hour stretches on an office couch, trying to carry the weight of my family’s survival while navigating heavy mental health struggles of people I love.

I was a chronic people-pleaser running purely on adrenaline and a fear of never being “enough.”

And then, my body did what bodies do when we refuse to rest: It forced me to stop.

I reached a level of physical and emotional burnout so severe that a single trip to the grocery store would leave me bedridden for days. I was stripped of my ability to hustle, manage, or fix. I was left with only one thing. This one thing saved my life. It taught me to hold on. And more importantly, it reminded me of my purpose. That one thing was the ‘pause.’

In that forced, terrifying stillness… I finally learned how to breathe.

I discovered that God’s grace isn’t found in running yourself into the ground for everyone else; it’s found in the pause. I realized that the ASL I had used for years to perform music wasn’t just a beautiful visual—it was the ultimate metaphor for finding profound quiet in a deafeningly loud world.

Through intentional stillness, breathwork, meditation, and the loving arms of a Savior who meets us in our mess, I healed. I stopped trying to earn my worth and started simply stepping into it.

Now, I take stages to help others do the exact same thing.

Whether I am speaking to a corporate team teetering on the edge of burnout, or a room full of faithful women desperate for a moment of peace, my mission is the same: to dismantle the lies that keep us running, and to teach the beautiful, life-saving Language of Stillness.

I bring my story, authenticity, and the stunning visual language of ASL to help audiences take the one breath that changes everything.

Let’s Create a Moment of Stillness for Your Audience.

Your audience doesn’t just need another motivational speech; they need a place to exhale. Whether you are hosting a general wellness event, a corporate gathering, or a Christ-centered conference, I would be honored to partner with you.

Together, we can give your attendees the tools to step out of survival mode and into their God-given purpose.

I partner with event planners to deliver a tailored, breathtaking experience that meets your room exactly where they are.

Track 1: Leadership & Wellness

Practical, visually anchored strategies to overcome burnout, silence the noise, and lead with clarity. This track brings foundational faith principles into high-pressure environments, helping your audience trade the illusion of hustle for the peace of intentional stillness. Featuring a powerful, live ASL performance that serves as a captivating visual demonstration of calm over chaos, we uncover the powerful truth that pausing doesn’t sabotage your goals—it amplifies them. By operating from a place of grounded calm rather than frantic exhaustion, your attendees will learn how to achieve sharper results, lead with deeper impact, and accomplish more without the burnout.

Track 2: Faith & Purpose

A deeply Christ-centered keynote tailored for faith-based events. Blending raw personal testimony with the striking visual beauty of ASL, this message points directly to the healing presence of Jesus in our darkest moments. Through an intentional, worship-focused ASL performance, your audience is invited to step into the stillness and experience the profound rescue of God’s grace. We uncover the truth that our ultimate calling isn’t found in the frantic rush, but in the sacred pause—proving that when we finally learn the language of stillness, we find our true purpose and rest in Him.
